The Ultimate Preflight Delivery Check for Photographers

You finish a photograph, export it, and send it to a client. On another screen, the color looks different or the image appears softer than expected. A short delivery check can catch common export problems before the file leaves your desk.
Why your final export can look different
Screens, browsers, print workflows, and social platforms handle color and compression differently. You cannot guarantee the same appearance everywhere, but you can inspect the file you are actually sending and choose settings appropriate to its destination.
The four-step preflight checklist
- Color profile: Check the embedded profile and the client or platform's requested color space. sRGB is a common web choice; print and managed workflows may require something else.
- Exposure health: Inspect clipped highlights and very dark shadows, especially in areas where detail matters.
- File health: Confirm format, pixel dimensions, bit depth, and file size against the destination's requirements before its own compression runs.
- Privacy metadata: Review EXIF data for location details or other information you do not intend to share.
Automate your quality control
Ceeniq's Delivery Check reviews a final export for color profile, exposure, file properties, and privacy metadata, with advice for web, Instagram, client, or print delivery. It is free with an account and does not use credits. Fix any flagged issues in your editor and export again; the tool reports potential problems but does not change the file.
